By far one of the best travel experience I have ever had. The cultural adventure Sherpa Encounters offers will leave you wanting to go back the minute you return home, and that's what I did. I had such a great time in 2010 with my father, I returned in 2011 to share the experience with my girlfriend. This isn't a sit-back and enjoy the ride type of trek. You will become immersed in the beautiful culture of Nepal and its people, you will develop new friendships and memories with your fellow trekkers and a bond with your Sherpa family that will last a lifetime.

This was a trip of a life time for us. Couldn't have had a better experience. Eoin and his team were incredible. We felt we were in safe hands from the moment we got there! The people of Nepal are so friendly and warm its hard to describe. You have to experience it to believe it.Shopping in Kathmandu was amazing, Mary was named shopping queen of the trek, fill those orders for blankets and shawls and slippers for your next Christmas list.Tea and saffron threads were an absolute bargain. We are looking forward to our next visit soon.- Mary & Dave Nichol - April 2012
My family and I went to Nepal with Eoin and Sherpa Encounters in 2012. We did the Classic Basecamp Kalapatar trek. The whole program was fantastic. Eoin and his Sherpa Family were great. The trip was a life changer for me. I enjoyed it so much I went back with him many times and I brought many friends.
I liked his program so much that after 2 trips with him I joined his "family" and became a group leader.
He is knowledgeable, pays attention to every detail and is extremely well equipped for safety and guest service. His connections in the region are second to none. He gets things done and can "move mountains" for his guests when needed. I think that is about the best testimonial anyone could give.
My family loved every minute and all want to go back. Dozens of my friends and acquaintances have now come with us and everyone says the same about the experience.
Many have come back again. Many more will be coming!

I have known Eoin for over 20 years and we have shared many adventures. I have had opportunity to travel to Nepal twice with Eoin and his professional Sherpa encounters crew, the trip always offers new and exciting adventures.
2014 was my first trek, I was lucky to have my brother on the trip, this was an adventure that we had talked about for years. We shared this adventure with a group of my comrades from the Burnaby Fire Department. The incredible places and the people we met along the way, all were amazing!! what a great experience for all of us.
In 2016 I was fortunate to be able to return to Nepal with Sherpa Encounters for my second trek, I enjoyed my first experience so much that planning for this trip began shortly after my return in 2014. This trip was again very special as my son was able to join us, being an avid outdoor professional I knew that when he spent time with Eoin and his Nepalese family it would further enhance his interest for all things adventurous. We will be sharing stories from this adventure around the dinner table for years to come.
I would encourage anyone interested in travelling to Nepal and the surrounding area to consider travelling with Sherpa Encounters. You will have the most trouble free adventure of a lifetime. I can hardly wait to go back!!!!!

"I have been fortunate enough to travel the world with sport and have been there when our best athletes have won Olympic Gold Medals in Wrestling. These athletes are the worlds best and are honoured by their fellow competitors and their country. My trip to Nepal and base camp Mount Everest introduced me to another group of amazing athletes, the Sherpas and Porters who carry incredible loads up the mountain trails in sandals and running shoes while I struggled in my expensive hiking boots. I held in awe these quiet unassuming people as they walked 15-20 kilometres uphill each day with well over 200 pounds on their backs without a word of complaint.
Nepal not only holds breath taking scenery of one of the worlds most incredible countries, it also has some of the world's most remarkable people."

Clear blue skies, majestic snow capped mountains, stunning scenery at every turn, amazing starry nights and friendly Nepalese- these are just a few of the things you will experience on a trip to Nepal with Sherpa Encounters, led by seasoned guide, Eoin White.
You will also experience incredible fatigue, shortness of breath and no showers for 5-6 days but this is all part of the adventure. Standing at the top of Kalapatar (18,500’) with Mount Everest in the background or grinding out the Cho La Pass are experiences I will cherish forever.
As team leader, Eoin White takes a personal interest in all hikers and has an amazing network of Sherpa’s, Sherpa helpers and Porters as a result of 25 trips to the Himalayas. It feels like a family outing with friends as opposed to an ‘organised tour’. Health and safety are key concerns for Eoin; from butterfly bandages to a portable hyperbaric chamber- he has it all to ensure all hikers summit.
This was an epic experience and one I highly recommend.

Sherpa Encounters made the planning of such a trip very easy and straight forward. We were greeted on arrival in Kathmandu and from then on everything was arranged. The treks are extremely well organised and we felt comfortable and safe. Eoin’s experience, depth of knowledge, attention to detail and relaxed attitude combined with the skills and support of his Sherpa ‘family’ guides and helpers make for an unforgettable journey. These aren’t treks where the focus is to get to the top; with Sherpa Encounters you have the opportunity to interact with villagers, chat and visit homes all at a most relaxed pace giving you a wonderful insight to their culture.
We returned to Nepal in 2015, happy to reconnect with our friends and delighted to take family and friends, so they too could experience this trip of a lifetime. On this trip, Grahame joined a small group to summit Island Peak which has been the most challenging and best experience of his life.
We are now planning our third visit and again look forward to introducing this special place and people to friends and family and sharing their adventure with them.

A life changing adventure! We went in 2012 and again in 2016. We now feel part of Eoin's Nepali family.
Hoping to return soon for another Himalayan experience.

After arriving in Kathmandu; every detail of the trip was arranged by Sherpa Encounters, allowing one total freedom to fully experience the city and its history; the Nepalese culture rich in Buddhist and Hindu spiritual traditions; the Sherpa way; and Chomolungma and the surrounding Himalayan giants. Climbing higher each day, as expected the vistas were breathtaking and left us speechless, our amazement expressed simply with, “Wow!”.The shared experience deepened existing relationships and new friends were made; yet the adventure also led inward and was profoundly personal with our intuitive guides supporting each trekker along their respective journey. I’ve returned more mindful of the beauty, awe and wonder of our planet, the human spirit and the connectedness we truly have to communities half way around the world, now feeling a part of the Sherpa family. The experience in the end was magical, soulful, deeply satisfying, and an inspiration to just be better.- Joan Stuart - November 2016
"Our trip with Sherpa Encounters was incredible and we have recommended it to many of our friends. My wife and I never travel using organized group packages, so we were blown away by how local, intimate, and unique this experience was. When we saw other more commercial groups, we counted ourselves so fortunate. We met, stayed with, sponsored, and grew to adore Eoin's network of local families. We were treated incredibly everywhere we stayed, and we are absolutely sure that other groups did not receive the high altitude education, training, precautions, and treatment that other groups received. If you have not been to the Kumbu before and want to be well looked after but still feel you are getting a unique experience, and if you want great value for money (Sherpa Encounters donate much of what they charge), this is your outfit. Look no further.- Nate Leslie, Vancouver BC
"I travelled with Eoin & Cami to Base Camp a few years ago and it was one of my most enjoyable trips. They are a professional and caring group of people and they took care of the details so I could just enjoy the scenery and the culture of the Khumbu valley. I'd Highly recommend."
